Wake me up when September comes!

This is starting to sound like a broken record, but we are still ridiculously busy!
This is starting to feel more like a lifestyle choice than a regular 9 to 5 job…
Fortunately I had the opportunity to take some time off to sail FG46003 from Kiel,
Germany to Dieppe, France, which was a nice chance to charge the batteries and get
some rest and recreation.
On the professional front, things are still happening despite dismal market forecasts;
boat number 4 rolled out the door the other week and is already on display at the Southampton
Boat Show, boat number 3 will be launched next week, hulls number 5 & 6 are in production and
hull number 7 is being laminated.
The annual Finngulf Trophy (a very low key regatta) was held last weekend and attracted a record
breaking 34 boats for a day of sailing and an evening of fun to the tune of live music. The
winner drove away in a brand new BMW X5 which he can use for 3 months, and a brand new Tag Heuer
Aquaracer watch (which he gets to keep indefinitely ? ) We decided to set the aim at 50
participating boats for the 2009 event. This year we only had one FG43, boat #2, participating,
as boat #1 was busy in Ijmuijden partaking in the sea trials for “European Yacht of the Year 2009”
and boat #4 was already in Southampton.
The feedback from the Helsinki In Water as well as the Southampton Boat Show are encouraging and
we expect to announce some new orders very shortly. I will also post some images of the interior
of hull #4 shortly – she is the first really standard interior version we have finished.
All the best,
Anders
FG43 is out now! The launch party was held on May 1st, 2008. This site is dedicated to following the design- and building process of the performance yacht. We continue to update this site until the opening of FG43 section on Finngulf site.
